He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Rudolph Hand and Edna Mae McCullough. He is survived by: his wife Arlene Bennett; his children, Lori Kann (John), Robert William (Tina) and Lyndi McSweeney (Daniel); his grandchildren, Jake, Michael, Matthew Kann, Melissa, Ryan Hand, Callie and Sean McSweeney; and his sister Victoria Chelberg (Robert).
