He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank W. Holmes and Helen D. Holmes (O'Neill); his wife Elaine Holmes; his sister Carol Waldecker; and his sister-in-law Linda Holmes (John).

He is survived by: his children, Billy Holmes (Marlene) of New Smyrna Beach, Debbie Pernell (Mark) of New Smyrna Beach, Holly Levitt of New Smyrna Beach, Carolyn Hounsell (Kent) of Edgewater and Arlene Hoffman (Chuck) of New Smyrna Beach; his siblings, Judy Hawkins (Baily), John Holmes, Roger Holmes (Elaine) and Brenda Whelan (Mike); his brother-in-law Bobby Waldecker (Carol); and his pet Gabby. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
