She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard T. Dyer and Exie Dyer; her husband Walter H. "Steve" Stephens; and her brother Bobby J. Dyer. She is survived by: her children, Jerry Stephens (Kathy), Janet Bloomingburg (Bob) and James Stephens (Karen); her grandchildren, Joshua Stephens (Jaime), Jared Stephens (Katherine), Anna "Grace" Bloomingburg, Julia Bloomingburg, Lauren Stephens and Lily Stephens; and her great grandchildren, Paisley Stephens, Oliver Stephens and Milo Stephens.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Niceville Church of Christ (801 E John Sims Pkwy, Niceville, FL 32578). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Sunset Cemetery.

On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at around 7:00 am, Carol Jane Dyer Stephens passed peacefully from this life into eternal rest at the age of 86 following a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
