It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Michael Eric Smith of Niceville, Florida, born in Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on August 28, 2023, at the age of 56, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his siblings, Yancy Merrit, Diane Smith, Rachel Goodloe, David Smith and Matthew Smith; and his stepmother Sandra Smith.
He is survived by: his parents, Jan Erikson and Donald Smith (Margo); his wife Elizabeth "Beth" Smith; his son Derek Smith; his stepchildren, Lacy Taylor (Gerald) and Wesley Taylor (Joy); his grandchildren, Quentin, Kamren, Bentley, Karmello, Kinzley and Weston; and his siblings, Donna Smith, Staci Micheletti (Mark), Kelli Nichols and Danny Lucio. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Mike to the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial Fund.
