He was predeceased by: his wife Ellin Zimmett Heilig; his parents, Simon Heilig and Edna Heilig; and his sisters, Shirley Cohen, Lenora Nast and Ruth "Butsie" Spinak.
He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Heilig (Debra), Cynthia Russo (Michael) and Jack Heilig (Melissa); his grandchildren, Jason Heilig (Alyssa), Samantha Heilig (Gabe Goldstein), Steffani Russo (Jamie Hopkins), Carly Heilig and Audrey Heilig; and his great grandchildren, Emma, Ethan and Taylor. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
