He was predeceased by: his parents, John Franklin and Corine Franklin. He is survived by: his children, Phyllis D. Higgins (James), Johnnie Franklin, Jr., Celestine Jones (Charles) and Thelonious Kirby; and his sister Barbara of Washington. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
