He was predeceased by: his father Leonard Shantz of Clint; and his sister Linda Shoemaker. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Shantz; his children, Heidi Shantz Banicki (Terry) and Eric Shantz; his grandchildren, Eric and Emily; his siblings, Janet Shantz, Elaine Shantz (Dale), Mark Shantz and Dale Shantz (Jade); and his in-laws, Janice, Elmer Ebersole, Karen Jones, Donald, Pam Jones and Stuart Shoemaker. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Living Waters Lutheran Church (12475 Chancellor Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33953).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) .
