It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John J. Burns of North Port, Florida, born in Jersey City, New Jersey, who passed away on November 15, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Lois Burns; and his parents, Bernard V. Burns and Mary Burns. He is survived by: his children, Susan Atallah (Jimmy), Eileen D'Angelo (Salvatore) and Allen Burns (Karen); his grandchildren, Justin D'Angelo, Caitlyn D'Angelo-Chesney (Kyle), Timothy Atallah, Jacob Burns and Daniel Burns; and his great grandchild Capri Chesney.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 from 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM at the Gerity & Chubenko Funeral Home (411 Amboy Ave, Woodbridge Township, NJ 07095). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. James R. C. Church (145 Grove St, Woodbridge Township, NJ 07095). A burial was held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at the St. Gertrude Cemetery (53 Inman Ave, Colonia, NJ 07067).
