She was predeceased by : her husband John N. Apgar; her son John N. Apgar, III; and her siblings, Robert H. Brown and Louise H. Garmy. She is survived by : her children, Robert Apgar, Leslie Apgar and Karl Apgar; her grandchildren, John N. Apgar IV "Jack" (Courtney), Eva Apgar, Sarah Bergquist (Rion) and David Funk; her great grandchild Vivienne Bergquist; her stepgrandchildren, Deirdre Cromie and Grant Cromie (Brittany); and also, Laura Burns (Chris) and Dorothy Brown. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Apgar was founder and president of the Apgar Foundation, a charity.
