He was predeceased by: his parents, George Schechter and Edythe Schechter (Hecht). He is survived by: his children, Brian Schechter (Gretchen Ovesny), Chantell Carlisle (Shane) and Julie Craig (Shawn); his siblings, David Schechter and Paula Mullis; his grandchildren, Austin Stapp (Gabrielle), Cheyenne Stapp, Jamie Ellen Stapp, Paige Schechter and Morgan Schechter; his great grandchild Alexander Glenn; and his caregiver Diane Thompson.
