He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Stickles and Norman Bermender; and his brother Norman Bermender. He is survived by: his wife Betty Bermender (Reiniger); his children, Craig Bermender (Pam), Deborah Bishop (Charles) and Vickie Cox (Gee); his grandchildren, Corey Swetham and Kimberly Williams; and his great grandchildren, Corey Swetham, Jr. and Alexis Swetham.

In Lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hospice of Marion County.
