He was predeceased by: his parents, Chet Hymes and Crystal Hymes (Riley); his spouse Clare Mae Wagner; his son Gregory Roy Hymes; and his stepmother Lela Hymes (Banks).
He is survived by: his children, Theresa Elizabeth Nuckoles (Ray) of Ocala, Catherine Joanne Belding (Jeff) of Belton and Chester Mark Hymes (Ellie) of Grandview; and his siblings, Dale (Wilma), Charles, James Hymes, Martha Jane Sherburne, Betty Hymes, Sheila Raithel (Jerry) and Sharlene Mastrandrea. He is also survived by five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, seven step-great grandchildren.
