He is survived by: his children, Johnell Hampton-Bennett (Cynthia) of Orlando, FL, Greg Lester of Ocala, FL and Donna Whitaker Hawkins (Keith) of Ocala, FL; his siblings, Mary Alice Welch of Ocala, FL, Barbara Jean Johnson of South Carolina, Recoritha Hampton and Coffey Hampton; and his daughters, Faith Whitaker Jenkins and Carmen Whitaker Belcher of Alachua County. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nieces, cousins, nephews, and sorrowing friends.
