Gerald Holloway Obituary
Gerald Holloway, 85, departed this earth to be with the Lord on January 11, 2019. He is survived by his wife and life partner, Gloria, of 63 years, his son Derek, daughters Gina and Lisa, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, brother Jack Holloway and sister Nelva Wheeler. He is a retired Supervisor of Security for Eastern Airlines and real estate broker.
Gerald was born in Sycamore Georgia and is a Korean War vet and private pilot whose passion and purpose was to give back to others. He was Boy Scout Master, Exalted Ruler for Elks Club, President of Optimist Club, High School football official, Major/Commander for Civil Air Patrol. In 1998, God brought him back from death and he became a Guardian Ad Litem for abused children and Vice President of Veterans Affairs helping homeless veterans find a home.
He was a devoted husband and father and loved his children and grandchildren more than anything. He would like to be remembered for his kind, gentle heart and his gift for helping others. His final example of this was by donating his body to UF Shands for medical research after his passing. Gerald was of the Baptist faith and his Memorial Service will take place Saturday, January 19th, 2019 at the Olivet Baptist Church in Ocala, FL.
