He was predeceased by: his parents, Vinson Johnson and Bernice Johnson; and his grandparents, Lee, Anna Mosby, Reverend Willie and Lelia Johnson.
He is survived by: his friend Ted Peterson; his wife Catherine "Cookie" Johnson (Monroe); his stepdaughters, Tiffany Smith (Deon) and Thersea Brown; his uncle Rufus Mosby; his mother-in-law Marcia Monroe; his grandchildren, Christopher Choung Jr., Tasneem Smith, Ny'zhae Wilson, Michael Tolbert Jr., Zuri Smith and Malachi Ali; his siblings, Glenn Marshall, Larry Johnson, Melody Johnson, Nancy Pattersaul (Kenneth), Russell Johnson, Wendell Johnson, Carolyn Johnson, Alvin Johnson and Lori Gordon; and his siblings-in-law, Carol Simpson (Darryl), Ronald Monroe and Robert Collins. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
