He was predeceased by: his parents, Angel Hernandez and Carmen Parrilla; his son Rafael; and his siblings, Carmen Luisa, Ana, Cruz Maria, Eliza, Angel (Gelo) and Auria.

He is survived by: his children, Vilma, Ivette, Herbert and Antonio. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
