He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Lumpkin, and Mildred Lumpkin, Sr. (Lawser); and his siblings, Joseph "Joe" Lumpkin, Micheal Lumpkin and Joan Green.

He is survived by: his wife Donis Lumpkin (Phillips); his children, Steven Lumpkin (Marcy), Michael Corbin (Brandy), Stephanie Harvey (Mike) and Melissa Ming; and his sisters, Patti Lumpkin and Barbara Jean Smith. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
