He was predeceased by: his parents, Jagdish C. Gulati and Ram Devi Gulati. He is survived by: his wife Veena Gulati; his daughter Rachna Uppal; his son-in-law Manu Uppal; his brother Suresh Gulati (Kamal Gulati); and his granddaughters, Arushi Uppal and Medha Uppal As.
His contributions to architecture were not only groundbreaking, but timeless, with some of his plans still in use after more than three decades.
