He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Tanner and Lucy Tanner; and his sisters, Nancy Leiter, Bonnie Fleming and Judy LaVallee.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Beth" Tanner; and his children, Janice Quoresimo, Richard Tanner, Jr. (Carol) and Dina Treadaway (Tim). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
