Vera Gaitor Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vera Gaitor (Ocala, Florida), born in Lowell, Florida, who passed away on September 30, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John "Rabbit" Waters Sr. and Willie Mae Wright; her stepdaughter Janice Reed (Calvin); her siblings, John "Buck" Waters Jr., Doris Wright-Shaw and Theodore Waters; and her husband Deacon Wellington Gaitor Sr..

She is survived by: her daughter Vera; her stepchildren, JoEller Rhem (Jessie), Wellington Gaitor Jr. (Jennifer), Rudolph Gaitor (Linda) and Vickie Gaitor; and her godson Elder Lorenzo Bethel (Shellian).

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Summers Funeral Home Chapel (2238 NW 10th St, Ocala, FL 34475). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church (612 NW 4th Pl, Ocala, FL 34475).
