He is survived by: his wife Pam; his sister Kay Lawley; his children, Phil Hombledal (Kathy), Joy Spiegel (Lee), Angela Sheffer (Rich) and Bridget McGrath Smith (Vaughn); his grandchildren, Erik Hombledal, Melodie Spiegel, Lauren, Melissa Sheffer, Meghan Downing (Josh), Daren (Faith), Tyler McGrath, Sedona and Vivianne Smith; his great grandchild Isabeau McGrath; and his extended family, Rebecca Adams (Jonathon), Jay (Amber), Faith (Sean), Hope and Haley.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his memory to Samaritans Purse for NC, SC, and eastern TN hurricane relief.
