He was predeceased by: his parents, William R. Moore and Bessie Moore (Foster); his former wife Sandra K. Moore; his daughter Melenda Goldberg; his brother Randel R. Moore; and his stepsons, Jeffrey Dale Smith, Chuck Smith and Timothy Helig.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Moore (Gheen); his son Daniel Moore, Jr. (Michelle) of Troy; his stepson James Scott (Kimberly) of Troy; and his sister Laurie Plemons (Bill) of Dunnellon, FL.. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
