He was predeceased by: his wife Gloria Ann Measel; his parents, Vernon LeGrand Measel and Pearlie Mae Rumsey (Rumsey); his daughter Darlene Marie Smith; and his sisters, Delois Farnsworth, Portia Hephner and Valerie Mix.

He is survived by: his children, Harlow Measel (Amy) of Michigan and Carole Olney (Jim Maine) of Florida; his sisters, Bonnie Finkbiner of Michigan and Charlotte Christy (Dennis) of Florida; his grandsons, Jess Mosley (Tyler) of Florida, Brandon Measel (Brooke) of Michigan and Jake Measel (Jaycie) of Michigan; his great grandchild Hunter Measel of Michigan; and his fellow Lizard Legends. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Allen Funeral Home (9136 Davison Rd, Davison, MI 48423). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Meadowview Memorial Gardens (3136 N State Rd, Davison, MI 48423).
