He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Schlagter and Richard Schlagter; and his brother Paul Schlagter. He is survived by: his sister Kathleen Hoenig of New York; his nieces and nephews, Tracy Rudzinski (Donald), Peggy Bedford (William), Amy Roberts (Theodore), Julie Hoenig, Katherine Mussachio (Jason), Richard Schlagter and Paula Barger (Jeffrey); his family, Leon and Sharon Rupp; his great grandchildren, Steve Rupp, Larry, Gwen Ford (Rupp), Dan Rupp and Alan; Caroline, Alexandria, Ian, Melissa and Patrick.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home & Sunset Cremations (910 W Michigan St, Orlando, FL 32805). A vigil service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the St. John Vianney Catholic Church (6200 S Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, FL 32809).
