He is survived by: his wife Melba Rivera; his children, Daniel John Rivera (Heather Howlett) and Diana Rivera Thornton (Damon Thornton); his grandchildren, Garion Rivera, Jack Rivera, Jared Rivera, Tristan Thornton, Tiana Thornton and Taliah Thornton; and his siblings, Ada Ballester and Mike Rivera. He is also survived by his family and friends.
