He was predeceased by: his father Gene Franz. He is survived by: his mother Carol Franz (Dave); his siblings, Rachelle McFadden (Dan), Joe Franz (Suzanne), Debbie Secard (Chuck), Rosalyn Simmons (Bill) and Mike Franz; his uncle Richard Nappen; and his nephews, Zane and Joshua.
