He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Stearns and Louise Stearns of Monticello, Arkansas.; his sister Eleanor Stearns Musick; and his cousin Charles "Charlie" Stearns. He is survived by: his son Michael Scott Stearns (Erin); his granddaughters, Kendall and Courtney Stearns of Orlando, Florida.; and his nephews, Joe Musick and Jim Musick of Louisiana.
