We are sad to announce that, on May 12, 2026, at the age of 97, Shirley Rita Burke of Orlando, Florida, born in Cleveland, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Mencke and Frances Mencke. She is survived by: her husband Edward; and her children, Tom, Frances, Terry, Gary, Greg, Mary, Jim and Mark. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Especially remarkable was her lifelong commitment to blood donation. Even into her nineties, she continued to give whenever she was able, ultimately donating more than fifty gallons over her lifetime and leaving a legacy that touched innumerable lives.

I always admired your beautiful mom as she seemed to effortlessly manage a household of 12 with her hair swept up, not a single strand out of place, meticulously dressed and speaking ever so gently. Coming from a home with 3 people, I had never seen so many groceries unloaded from the 10/12? passenger station wagon and a home that was spotless. She was gracious, humble and kind and I'm sure will be missed by many. God Bless you all. Warmly, Marsha Hartle Kraft”
