He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Butler Rhodes and Ernest Chason Rhodes; his sister Marianne Rhodes Lybrand; and his brother-in-law Curtis Wilson Lybrand. He is survived by: his sister Camille Rhodes Gruman (Bill) of Hickory, NC; his sibling's children, Jon Robert Moore (Amanda) of Columbia, SC, Michael Charles Gruman (Kristin) of Raleigh, NC, Kristy Moore Lewis (Paul) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Kim Gruman Burchfield (Andy) of Marietta, GA; his great-niece Alison Nicole Moore of Columbia, SC; his great-nephews, Benjamin Chason Lewis of Mt. Pleasant, SC, William Price Burchfield, Wade Chason Burchfield of Marietta, GA. and Jacob Alexander Lewis; and his brother-in-law First Lt (Leslie E. Rembert).
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home (2811 Curry Ford Rd, Orlando, FL 32806).
