He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Butler Rhodes and Ernest Chason Rhodes; his sister Marianne Rhodes Lybrand; and his brother-in-law Curtis Wilson Lybrand. He is survived by: his sister Camille Rhodes Gruman (Bill) of Hickory, NC; his nephews, Jon Robert Moore (Amanda) of Columbia, SC and Michael Charles Gruman (Kristin) of Raleigh, NC; his niece Kristy Moore Lewis (Paul) of Mt; his great-niece Alison Nicole Moore of Columbia, SC; his great-nephews, Benjamin Chason Lewis of Mt. Pleasant, SC, William Price Burchfield, Wade Chason Burchfield of Marietta, GA. and Jacob Alexander Lewis; and his brother-in-law First Lt (Leslie E. Rembert).
