William Cekala Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of William Cekala of Orlando, Florida, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 9, 2025 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, William is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that William's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Cekala and Virginia Cekala (Spinnato). He is survived by: his wife Sharon Cekala (Busca); his sister Rosemary Lewis (Don) of Charleston, SC; his sibling's children, Adrienne Tierney of Niantic, CT, Alissa Ferguson of Charleston, SC, Christopher Smolenski of Poquoson, VA and Aileen Cristaldi of Charleston, SC.; and his brother-in-law David Smolenski (late Lauren) of New London, CT. He is also survived by friends, school friends, work friends and church friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church (113 Lockwood Blvd, Oviedo, FL 32765).
Donations in Bill's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to JMJ Pregnancy Center in Orlando.
