He was predeceased by: his parents, Earley Wade and Beulah Gay Joyner; and his brothers, Douglas Clayton Joyner and Leon Wade Joyner. He is survived by: his son Gordon Alan Joyner, Jr. (Jessica) of Rocky Mount; and his siblings, Robert Isaac Joyner of Asheville, Dallas Carlton Joyner of Wilson, Charles Preston Joyner (Bonnie) of Rocky Mount, Beverly Renee Gardner (Phillip) of Whitakers and Gayle Annette Koonce of Greenville. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, family friends and other extended relatives.
