She was predeceased by: her parents, Willis Carlton Gandy and Ruby Howell Gandy; and her spouses, Glein Permenter, Adolph Pitts and Pelham Chastang (Don Wilson).
She is survived by: her children, Bruce Permenter (Cindy) and Glenda Melvin (Charles); and her sister-in-law Merle Gandy. She is also survived by six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Grace Methodist Church of Pace (4540 Chumuckla Hwy, Pace, FL 32571). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Alaqua Methodist Cemetery.
Mrs. Chastang's wishes for donations included flowers or donations to the Alaqua Methodist Church Cemetery Fund (in care of Patrick Pilcher).
