He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer D. Brooks and Edna G. Cook; his stepfather Buford H. Cook; and his sister Norma Odom. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Lowery Brooks; his children, Justin Brooks (Courtney), Kyle Brooks (Jessica), Gary Brooks Jr. (Scoot) and Tai Brooks (Levi Ledbetter); his grandchildren, Reese, Coltin, Halle, Raelyn, Emreigh, Liam, Harper and Barrett; and his sister Ruth Cook. He is also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lewis Funeral Home Pace Chapel (4777 W Spencer Field Rd, Pace, FL 32571). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
