He was predeceased by: his parents, Oby Henry Melvin and Millie Cornelia Parker (Melvin); and his sisters, Mary Lou Melvin, Pauline Melvin and Geraldine Johns (Roy).
He is survived by: his wife Penny Melvin; his daughter Rachelle Melvin; his grandchildren, Corey Jones, Cody Perritt (McKaylah) and Garrett Baxley; his great grandchildren, Gregory Perritt, Lilly Perritt and Walker Perritt; and his brothers, Edward Melvin (Peggy) and Glenn Melvin.
