It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Anise Whitaker Prater formerly of Palatka, Florida, born in Lake Mary, Florida, who passed away on November 14, 2022, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Whitaker and Clara Whitaker; her siblings, John, Charlie, Albert, Ross Whitaker, Mary Harris and Clara Belle Hamilton (Smith); her husband James; and her children, Mary Prater Patzke (Wally) and Peter Guy Prater.
She is survived by: her children, James L. Prater and Susan Prater DeBeaugrine (Jim) of Tallahassee; her grandchildren, Beth Gibson (Donnie) of Jacksonville, Taylor Prater Melcher (Dylan) of Tampa, Marlo Prater Jones (Trey), Evans Prater of Asheville and Cassie Prater DeBeaugrine of Tallahassee; and her son Bobby Bowden. She is also survived by her great grandchildren.
