He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Lee "Cash" Register and Mary Jean Register; his son Eric Register; and his sister Wanda Lee Koons. He is survived by: his children, Randy Lofton (Chrissy), Greg Lofton, Kelly Espinosa (Edward), Kelley Jean Eisen (Steve) and Christie Little (Robert); his sister Ginny O'Steen; and his aunt Patty Dinkins Stephens. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, Office of Philanthropy, 2900 North Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607, or online in honor of Gene's lifelong heart for helping others.
