He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Lewis Burke and Carrie Pauline Cody; his wife Shirley Jean Jackson Burke; his daughter Linda Gail Browning; his granddaughter Rachel Lynn Browning; and his siblings, Peggy Ann Burke, Martha Rebecca Henson and Sherman Douglas Burke.
He is survived by: his children, Melvin "Buddy" Burke (Lisa), Nancy Marie Burke, Charles Lewis "Chuck" Burke and Paula Burke Middleton (Wayne); and his siblings, Audrey Louise Allison, Walter Joe Burke (Bonnie) and Raymond Phillip "Butch" Burke (Charlotte).
