It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Earl Gray of Palatka, Florida, born in Jacksonville, Florida, who passed away on October 9, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hiram Gray and Eloise "Pinkey" Gray; his son Richard Earl Gray, Jr.; and his son-in-law Anthony Keith Smith. He is survived by: his wife Sara Jo Gray of Palatka; his daughters, Tracy Smith of Palatka, Trisha Kauble (Jeff) of Marion, OH and Gloria Luke (Kevin); his grandchildren, Jordan Luke, Justin Luke, Jared Luke (Anna), Alexis Claro (Baylee Pinner) and Isabella Claro; his great grandchildren, Lei Lani Williams and Noah Luke; and his friends, Sweet Owens and Dr. Neil Benson.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Johnson-Overturf Chapel (307 S Palm Ave, Palatka, FL 32177). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the WestView Cemetery (321 Osceola St, Palatka, FL 32177).
