He was predeceased by: the mother of his children Bertie Bennett Rivers; and his parents, William Carl and Vivian Rivers. He is survived by: his wife Edna Rivers; his children, James M. "Jimmy" Rivers, Betty Dennard (John) and Cheryl Fox; and his stepchildren, Bridget Dennis (Paul) and James Brafford (Kristy). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
