He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Olivero Negron; his mother Oliva Negron Rivera; his sister Martha Balagal; his stepfather Herminio Rivera; and his grandchildren, David Jones, Keith Avery and Jeannette Avery.
He is survived by: his daughters, Carol Donato (Ron Donato), Joni Shortt (Michael Shortt) and Barbara Jean Taboada; and his grandchildren, Cassandra Jones, Lisa Frizzell (David), Deborah Avery, Guy Avery, Jennifer Howell (Glenn) and Sandra Diliberti (Thomas).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project in his name.
