He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Virtz and Edna Virtz; and his brother Robert Virtz. He is survived by: his wife Sue Virtz; his children, Treasa Baust (Danny), P. J. Virtz (Cathy), Paul Virtz Jr. and Christina Peifer (Jason); and his siblings, Nancy Davis, Ronald Virtz and Gary Virtz. He is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A reception was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home (511 Old Kings Rd S, Flagler Beach, FL 32136).
