Karen Rae Moran, a beloved mother, grandmother, and pioneering woman in technology sales, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025. Born on July 28, 1945, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Frank and Lenora Moran, Karen led a life filled with determination, courage, and love for 79 years.
Early Life and Career
Karen began her trailblazing career in the early 1970s, starting on the production line at Texas Instruments. Her tenacity and skill propelled her through the ranks in the technology sales industry, setting an example for women in a male-dominated field.
Family Life
Karen raised her three children in Plano, Texas, before her career took her to various locations from St. Louis to Atlanta and Florida. She is survived by her sister Sandra Chapman and brother Thomas 'Tommy' Moran.

She was a devoted grandmother to Riley Green, Brett Herrin, Nic Richards, and Callie Miller.
Along with her nieces, Karen 'Kelly' Love, Laura Blanch, Marie Simons, Megan Moran and nephews Dixon, Preston all of whom she adored and enjoyed spending time with as they grew up.
Later Years
After retiring in Jupiter, Florida, Karen moved to Oldsmar, Florida, to help her daughter Nicki raise her granddaughter, Callie. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family as she became a beloved lunch lady at both Forest Lakes and Davis Elementary schools. Karen resided in Eastlake Woodlands for over a decade before relocating to Tarpon Springs three years prior to her passing.
A Legacy of Love
Affectionately known as 'Bobo' and 'Kabo' to the children she cared for, Karen was renowned for her quick wit and sense of humor. Her love for animals, bugs, and reptiles of all kinds inspired her to create custom bug boxes and critter keepers for her grandchildren, fostering their curiosity about the natural world.
Karen's determination and courage were defining characteristics throughout her life. While she sometimes struggled to express her feelings, she leaves behind a legacy of deep love for those dearest to her. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.
