He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Dobson and Freda Dobson (Willner); and his siblings, Harry Jr. (Mary), John Edward and Florecia Klopfer (Robert).

He is survived by: his wife Bernice; his children, Ray E. Dobson (Patricia) and Glenda Dobson; and his brother Robert Dobson (Sharon). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
