He is survived by: his siblings, Vicki Snyder (Carl) of Parrish, John Melvin Jr. (Tia) of Guyton, GA, Paula Alderman (Troy) of Palmetto, Scott Melvin (Jodi) of Stoney Point, NC and Lisa Conwell (Bobby) of Bradenton. He is also survived by loving extended family, including 18 nieces and nephews, 27 great nieces and nephews, and 4 great-great nieces and nephews.
