It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Vekris of Palmetto, Florida, born in Hartford, Connecticut, who passed away on November 3, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas John Vekris and Gladys Hewitt Vekris; and his sister Eva LaSata. He is survived by: his children, Carissa Carter (Don) of Palmetto, FL and Nicholas Vekris (Boram) of Wilson, NC; his siblings, Christina Vekris, Irene and Alfred "Sonny" Dreher of Rockville, CT; his grandchildren, Katilyn Carter, John Vekris and Johanna Vekris; his nephews, Keith Vekris, James Vekris, Joe LaSata and Michael LaSata; his grandson DJ; his pets, Kinsley, Carly and Dusty; his friends, John Cadoret, Teresa Smith, Cary "Beaky" Gilbert, Steven Drew, Buster Braeiwa, Danny, Richie Lawlor, Paul McBride, Jayne Kennedy, Gary Valliere, Andrea and Gabe Anaya; Genesis.
