He was predeceased by: his father Byron; and his brother Jerry. He is survived by: his mother Shirley Brown; his son Byron A. Simon (Jennifer) of South Carolina; his brothers, David (Kathy) of Bradenton and Charles L. McCartney (Connie) of Parrish; his grandchildren, Katie and Christopher; his nephews, Charles S. McCartney (Ashley), David Simon, Jr. (Hollie) and Jerry Simon (Tia); and his niece Laura Donahue (Jason).
