He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Burleson and Stella Burleson; and his in-laws, Emory and Betty Ray. He is survived by: his wife Sandra L. Ray-Burleson; his children, Heather Burleson-Smith (Ross) and Joe Ben Burleson Jr.; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Smith, Reagan Smith and Emmalyn Smith; and his siblings, Jim Burleson (Jeanie), Betty Carpenter, David Burleson and Lee Burleson (Amy).
