He was predeceased by: his parents, William Groves and Mary Jane Groves (Tubbs); his wife Elizabeth Ann Groves (Stanko); his siblings, William, Lewis, Donald, Clayton, Wallace, Ivan, Richard, Carl, Mary Jane, Eva, Satie and Wilma Jean; and his sons, Scott and Leon.
He is survived by: his sisters, Rose, Nelle and Anna; and his children, Lorraine, Sylvia, Joe Jr., Sherry (Bob), David (Juanita) and Clifford. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
