He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe W. Padgett, Sr. and Madeline Padgett; and his son Wayne Radney Padgett. He is survived by: his wife Lavena Padgett; his siblings, Peggy Padgett Strid and Robert E. Padgett; his children, Jo Anna Padgett Strickland (Dan E. Strickland) and Patrick A. Padgett (Julia Padgett); and his daughter-in-law Jane Padgett. He is also survived by three nephews and three nieces; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
