He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie McCoy and Dannie Lee Powell; and his siblings, Betty Sue Hutto, Charlene McArthur, Lillian Hathaway and Wilmer Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Graves Powell; his children, Ellen Powell of Rincon, GA, Paul Powell (Kerri) and David Powell (Cherish); his grandchildren, Michael Powell, Luci Powell and Charlie Powell; and his siblings, Wanell Crawford, Elizabeth Solomonsen and Shirley Scott. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
